As title looking at picking up a new board I think the asrock does but not to sure is there any from gigabyte or other thanks

im using 3 gen 4 nvme drives on the x870e strix without it affect my gpu, as long as you don't use the top left 2 gen 5 slots you get full 16x, but you can still use the top right gen 5 slot.

X670E TUF will let you use 4 without dropping the GPU to x8. One is Gen 3 x2 and you loose the SATA ports if you use it.

a lot of the new boards dedicate 4 lanes to provide USB4 40GBps so have to skimp on M2 lanes.

My Asus x670 Hero let's you have 2 PCI-E 5 NVME drives and 2 PCI-E 4. Only if you populate the 3rd PCI-5 NVME slot does it start taking lanes off of the GPU. Not cheap, I grant you, but the motherboards do exist if you want them.

You may find this useful:

That's an excellent video. I realise now that every single x870 board reserves 4 PCI-E 5 lanes for USB4. Which means 4 fewer lanes for other things. So if you want lots of NVME storage and don't care about USB4, then x670 is actually better for you than x870! That kinda sucks really. :-(

The one exception appears to be the MSI x870E Godlike, where USB4 can be disabled, and then it'll use the lanes for another PCI-E 5 NVME.

If you don't care about USB4 then I'd just stick with the last gen boards, even a B650 board like the Tomahawk or TUF Plus can do 3x M.2.

If you want PCI-E 5.0 graphics, Strix B650E-F was popular for that and same story, can do 3x M.2 with no impact on graphics.

There are also entry level X670E boards like MSI's Gaming Plus that are available just over £200.
