Hi folks,

Looking to build a new 7800x3D based PC, need recommendations on a motherboard. Not interested in WiFi, it will be plugged into the router, but I plan on at least 2 M.2 PCIe Gen 4 for storage, a 7900XTX for the GPU and 2 x 32Gb DIMMs for ram.

Given all the options out there, feeling a bit swamped and wondering what you guys would go with given I want good features but don't need wireless capability. Been looking at the Steel Legend but again, that has the WiFi that I don't see any point in paying for.

Yeah, saw the Steel Legend B650e recommended in a thread in upgrade advice and it looked like a good spec, but if I can get an X670 chipset sans WiFi for the same price, then it seems like a no-brainer.

To be fair most boards come with WiFi now, doesnt mean you have to use it and its handy to have as a backup should anything go wrong with your LAN port or cable, without wifi you'll also lose bluetooth, this is what ive got and I love it, however, my first one, the LAN port did stop working after a bios update and I had to resort to the WiFi, in the end I RMA'd the board and got it replaced, if you're planning on running just 2 sticks of ram with no intentions of running 4, then this is ideal.

just about all new motherboards have wifi now and on the Intel side they even mandate it

You can easily disable it in the bios if you don't want to use it

Very happy with my Gigabyte A520M DS3H. Not sure if there is an equivalent for your cpu.

Another point about boards with WiFi, since it's operated by the same chip, you also get bluetooth. Handy if you have a few BT devices (mouse, keyboard, controller, headset, etc.)
