I am very likely in the market for a new MB, I have some specific requirements but with the new chipsets since I adopted, it's such a minefield so would rather ask here to more knowledgable folk.

Current
9800X3D
5090
2/3 Gen 4 M2's.

Priorities in order of importance to me:
  • ATX or ATX-E
  • PCIe-5 x16 slot for my GPU (noting there really isn't much difference between 4/5 but it's a nice have)
  • Can support up to 3 M2's Gen 4 without cutting down the GPU lane from 16x.
  • Proper heatsinks for the M2s, i.e, has top and bottom, saw some with only a top heatsink.
  • At least 8 USB slots (not including Ng usb-c), the speed doesn't really matter.
  • Bios flashback function, this was really vital during my current mobo ownership so would like to have it.
  • Not Asus (purely because my suspect fauly mobo is) or Asrock because I'm not risking it.
  • Favouring MSI purely as my GPU is too but appreciate there is no discernable advantage really here.
  • Cost, ideally up to £350.
  • Isn't white.

I'd have said B850 Tomahawk, but it doesn't have that many rear USB because MSI went big on Type-C. The X870/X870E versions have 9.

Yeah that one looks good. I'm currently using 6 ports on the back but seems everything I buy wants to use it's own dongle. Don't really want to fanny about with a hub, though sometimes I think it could be the way to go just for dongles etc.
