Interesting, seen lots of bits like this at uni, though it's worth pointing out that an electron microscope can't distinguish colour, so they're false colour images, for anyone who didn't realise.
 
Wow thats mad and nope I did not know why they where weird colours though I think the colours make it look nice :).

I was wondering why the eyelash hair was green ...

Me to I was like ohh he needs to wash more.

Electron microscopes dont give colour, so you have to highlight similar areas with similar colours

Hopefully I'll get to play with one of these bad boys in my 2nd year!

What makes the colours that are shown? Are they from the data the electron microscope sends back or does a program add colour after?
