Well I have to sell my amazing XFX due to me wanting to build a new computer

Not bothered if its ATi or Nvidia or rage, its got to be excellent and capable of playing games on good settings.

Thank you!

Yeah, 4870 or GTX260 would be enough to max most games at 1280x1024, and enough to give a good showing at slightly higher resolutions too.

Are there any other parts you need to buy?

As it may be easier to pool all your money together and then ask the best spec for it and stating exactly what you need (CPU/RAM/Motherboard/PSU etc?)

So the best parts can be spec'd for you instead of trying to use a £20 PSU with a Phenom 955BE and a £30 GPU for playing games as you are trying to do.

But what parts do you need?

What do you already have?

If you have a harddrive and optical drive, are they IDE or SATA?

A Phenom 955BE is going to be out of your range, and a more thought out system will be better.

At the £40 new card level you are looking at HTPC cards that can't do 3D but can decode 1080p.

At the £40 second hand level you might get something that was good for 3D at one point in it's life.
