Amazing home cinema system

pfff,

thats no cinema buff,

if he was he would have stopped all work as soon as the projector / sound system was hooked up.

(you do some some crazy setups on the avsforum, dread to think what they spend on them)

I don't like it :(

I think it's some amazing work but can't say I like it. Home "Cinema" should look modern IMO and show off all your gear.

It gets a thumbs-down from me im afraid.

There was nothing breathtaking about it at all - here is why:

There was little to no planning done, the guy seems to have just bought some expensive kit and bunged it in a room that wasnt designed before it was built. He states that they didnt do any proper drawings and just winged it as they went along!!

There was no regard given to the acoustics of the room at all, not one single consideration.

IMO, for the money that was probably spent he could have done better - much better, although it perhaps wouldnt have looked the same.

I know when I build myself a room I will make damn sure it hits the ISO standards for Impulse response and resonance as well as a low noise floor and it will cost me a LOT less than that guy will have spent (and will sound MUCH better, too)

DRZ hit the nail on the head thats what i was trying to say!
Hes done it for the visual effect not SQ etc!

Not my scene, would prefer the simple look and a better SQ :)

I admire him for doing such a huge project but I have to concur with the above posters, more planning and better SQ and VQ could have been obtained for less.

Why do they all go for cinema seats, surely a nice sofa or recliner would be a lot more comfortable. Even with all the money in the world I'd never go for anything like those set-ups.

I have to agree with this and DRZ.

The guy seems to have just ****** his money up the wall on a fancy looking but highly impractical room.

I also think it looks horrible.

I use cinema seats and are very comfy just goes to show judging a book by looking at the cover :(

Plus

The sreen is too small for the distance you are sat from it and more importantly. It mings, HARD!

Give me a plain room everytime with super mat paint to cut down on reflections
