Amazon Checkout UI Changed?

Has anybody noticed the UK Amazon checkout page has changed and for the worse I might add, each window collapses now if not being used so if you want to use a promo code you have to click the blue bit, wait 5-10s for it to load and it collapses the window below with dates for delivery and a "review order" button comes up.

US website on left which is what ive been used to for years, on the right what im now seeing since the weekend, spent over 30m going through 5 or 6 departments and nobody there could tell me when it was changed or why but its just a stupid step back imo.

Even more tawdry if you are not a primate - with screen space taken up by trying to trap you into signing up, or proposing exorbitant postage options;
I never order via a puny smartphone screen.

Well the US one looked the same and I saw no valid reason they would make it more user unfriendly so didn't know if something was up or not, I am a little overly paranoid when it comes to online things involving card details.

I'm not seeing anything new - there are 3 different versions (that I'm aware of) of the last bit of the checkout process though - I'm not sure why I just click through. Most of the time I get one version but occasionally get one of the other two, probably related to what I'm buying I guess.

There are 3 different versions of final checkout page, thanks for the heads up. The only one I remember ever seeing is what the US site still looks like.

I have no idea why one version collapses the sections you don't use now so you have to reload each one individually if you want to change something.

I dunno whether it is relevant to having marketplace vs Amazon, etc. items in your basket or when items are imports and/or relevant to country of import or what.

That seems kinda weird both that they would have different versions of end checkout and that I would only get one over the last several years.

I'm getting the new one now with the borders top and bottom - didn't when I ordered stuff earlier, but forgot something and just put it through and got the new UI.

It's rare that a website or UI update actually improves anything these days.

Still, got to keep arbitrarily changing things all the time!
