Hi all, just bought a new system for the first time in about 10 years and looking forward to getting back into PC gaming. I'm on Steam but I've also seen quite a few sites offering good digital downloads of games.

I see Amazon are doing games downloads now but only seem to be open to US users at this time. I wondered firstly if anybody had found a way to get around this problem. Secondly, I have access to a US credit card but I'm concerned that buying it through a US service might restrict my content in some way? I know it's unlikely but just wondered if the version I downloaded via this service would be any different to the version I'd get off something like Steam, for instance....??

Anybody have any experience with this?

Really? As simple as that? Would be good if so!

Annoyingly - I checked the other night and they had Battlefield 3 for $9.99, but now it's back up to like $30!!

Yeah all you need is an american address (find something like google's address) and use that as the delivery address I think, you can use British cards. However some states charge tax, so you may want to research into a state that charges none/the least.

Cool, thanks mate! Will give it a go.....

One more thing - I am totally out of the PC gaming scene so what I'm wondering is re. online play, do some games (Battlefield for instance) require an online login or similar that I maybe wouldn't get with the digital version? Or am I over-thinking this?! :D

Pick an address from Oregon or Alaska, they don't have sales tax. Other than that the whole order process on amazon.com is exactly the same as on .co.uk
