I have a few things arriving today from Amazon...i have the text updates activated (no text yet) and the website said they left Croydon at 07.41. I am in Clapham.

Is there any way of finding out more information about when it could be arriving?

google maps - Croydon to Clapham - find out estimated travel times - add that to the departure time... should give you a rough time as to when they will be in your area.

Won't even be close if they use similar routing software to companies like DPd which I imagine they do, they can send a driver to 100m away from your delivery at 10am but not be scheduled to get to you until 5pm based on what the software thinks is best.

I think only DPD offer a time window, Amazon is very much turn up whenever. Interestingly, I've just done my first same day order now that I've got prime and it's due to arrive between 6-10pm this evening!

Unfortunately Amazon Logistics don't offer any kind of delivery window, they really can turn up at any time of the day. I've had deliveries as late as 7pm.

As such I get them to deliver any items that won't be a pain in the bum to carry to my local Doddle collection point, I can then go and get it at my own convenience.

Yep, sit and wait unfortunately. Before I get wound up about these things, I always remind myself that some poor bloke is delivering to a hundred+ houses that day!

I got an email from them two days after the proposed delivery to say they didnt know what had happened and then had to go back to Amazon a couple of days after that for a refund.

I think you are totally at the whim of whoever is actually doing the delivery as they guy who last did our appeared to be a private individual delivering from his car...

Indeed. I have my orders delivered to an Amazon Locker near my workplace if it's small enough, otherwise I get it delivered to my workplace itself.

Indeed it could turn up at almost any time.

I do a lot of work for Amazon fulfilment as its known, I'll take a load from say Rugeley to Weybridge or it could be Croydon, Peterborough, Swansea, when I arrive (roughly 8:30 pm) there is always a gaggle of white vans waiting to be loaded once my trailer is unloaded and the contents sorted.

As I'm leaving at around 9:30 - 10pm I have to wait in a queue of white vans that are leaving in front of me, this seems to be the case no matter what time your at the given fulfilment centre.

Impressive operation tbh, the scale is quite remarkable.

Every time I've had an Amazon Logistics delivery, it's been within the last 30mins of the delivery time frame (so late pm)

I've had one turn up at 10:30pm and 3 that didn't show up on the guaranteed day. It does bug me that they won't give a window even if it was a large 2-3 hour one or even morning, afternoon and evening would be nice.

I am due a package to collect today.

As I type this, it has not arrived to the Locker, mind you from the looks of things, the Driver did not appear to set off until ~1.30pm

There is still chance yet?

- Morrisons closes at 10pm! :o
