If i remember correctly you could order stuff far closer to christmas last year and still get the items before christmasPeak Christmas period right now, so I can imagine this is the largest factor.
Yep. I'm really baffled by the issue with the family member who ordered that case. Amazon's estimated dates are clearly wrong. If i remember correctly you could order stuff far closer to christmas last year and still get the items before christmas
This year really caught me out with orders that made about 2 weeks before christmas not due to arrive till after christmas
I follow that with anything high value. Phones, PC parts, monitors, anything worth steeling really lolYep. I'm really baffled by the issue with the family member who ordered that case. Amazon's estimated dates are clearly wrong.
Personally, I never order computer stuff from Amazon anyway. Can't trust that I'll actually receive the right product either.
Has anyone else noticed that amazon has been taking a week or longer to despatch items ?
Is this a case of amazon has got so big that now there really struggling to handle the amount of orders coming in
I've had stuff arriving next day, some arriving the day after, I've also had a few items where it's said "available next day if you order within 43 minutes" (or whatever) but when I've added it to the cart it's changed to a day later, presumably as at that point it's actually checked where it is or someone else got the last one at the local depot.
I think it's going to depend very much on where you are, what the item is, and which amazon warehouse it is currently in, or indeed if it's something they don't have in their warehouse but normally collect from a distributor and send straight to you.
For example I've had a couple of tech items that took a week to arrive as they were quite obviously sent pretty much direct from the manufacturers central EU warehouse/via an Amazon EU warehouse.
After looking at how busy the Roads & shops are on the last week before christmas i think your correctAlternatively more and more people are leaving things to the last minute cos they're relying on things just happening instantly cos there's not been any issues at other times of the year / in previous years?

LOL you just reminded me that i missed the boat as i was looking at going over to Jersey today and i forgot all about itI've ordered three things from Amazon this month and they've arrived about a week after I've placed the order. I'm in Jersey so once they leave Amazons warehouse and are handed over to Royal Mail they make their way down to Portsmouth then spend the day crossing the channel on the freight boat and usually arrive at the local carrier that evening. They then go out for delivery the next day usually.
