Dipped into Clarksons farm to watch at work but gave up because it felt like I’d be going from advert to advert every 5-10 minutes.

They can suck it.

I do pay for ad free, but if it goes up Ill ditch it & stop watching. One thing I have noticed of recent, even if your ad free, they slot in an ad at the start, that you have to press skip on.

There is not much good on Amazon tbf

Indeed, a few good shows once in a blue moon, I'm watching Young Sherlock at the moment which is pretty good. It's so few and far between though, so much **** on the service. Not a chance in hell I would give amazon more money for ad free. I was using the postage a fair bit late last year, but this year ive not used it much, If that continues I don't think I will renew.

I know Amazon used to refund partially if you cancelled early, not sure if they still do that?.

I'm less bothered by that though it is a bit of a pain but if you can skip it I'm OK with that - I'm not OK on the services like Now TV where even if you pay for "ad free" they stick an un-skippable "promotional" reel at the start which is essentially just an ad - that is very not OK in my opinion and why I've binned them off.

The excessive amount of ads in my monthly free trial has actually put me off subscribing. Whilst ads in the free trial could be considered acceptable (it's free, after all), I know it's going to be representative of the full service.

I've certainly noticed the up-tick in ads on amazon. That said, for me the TV/film stuff is an aside bonus to the prime delivery which I use a lot ( so it does pay for itself in what I save in postage ). I'd say for me, it's only on occasion do I watch stuff on Amazon. It's often a bit of an after thought to look through it because as said above, there sure is a lot of tat on there.

The rub for me is - you could be spending £10,000 a month buying stuff on Amazon or use them every 3 months - still have ads rammed down your throat. If they are having to ask people spending a decent amount on Amazon for an extra £2.99/m that is pure nickel and diming. Much better to have like purchasing incentives where you got say a week ad free with certain purchases, etc. and other sweeteners - end of the day £2.99 is chump change for most people but it is the approach Amazon have used which triggers me - taken away something people already had without even any sweetener (other than some vague hand waving at being able to afford to produce better stuff) and purely looking at their bottom line without a care for the customer when there are so many ways they could get creative with it with the platform they have.

Now that 4k is probably going on a paid monthly tier don't think I will watch anything on there!

I don't have Prime, but whenever I see the free trial available for 30 days or whatever, I nab it just because it's free for a bit. I always cancel at the end of the trial because the service is terrible, so there's no way I'd pay for it.

When I do have the free trial though, I just watch Prime on my PC, so I can use adblock to get rid of the ads. Does limit the viewing experience a bit, purely from a watching on a PC monitor vs watching on a TV perspective, but oh well. I'd rather watch ad free during the trial before I cancel at the end.

Prime is my last resort when there is nothing left to watch elsewhere. Even then, I just tried to sit through Scarpetta, which I gave up on after 1/2 an hour

.

Finally had enough, paid me 2.99... only to be told its going upto 4.99 fml

For those of you saying the Prime product itself is poor, we have a large volume of Amazon orders every month as well as subscribe and saves and it really does give a decent selection of benefits for the price.

It just depends on your usage, Just liek a costco membership... its not for everyone
