Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

That one is showing as delivery included with prime to me (no additional delivery cost). Same for second link.

The bottom one is showing as £1.99 delivery for me on Prime with no eligible sellers for Prime.

Thanks for that much appreciated.
The top two I can see Prime on the screen but I still have to buy goods over £20.
The bottom one doesn't show Prime so there is a difference when you join.

Another thing:
If I bought a metal bin with a combination lock on it could I give instructions to Amazon to leave it in that bin?

Should be able to do that without Prime - somewhere in delivery instructions there is a pull down list of different safe delivery options including the use of a combination but I'm not sure if that is available until after you've had 1-2 deliveries.

EDIT: They've changed it since I last looked - the code entry is for a door though they might accept a storage location dunno - the other option is now just "any secure location at this address".

I find anything offer on 'Prime' with free postage is often offered at a more expensive price than alternative sources. In other words you're sill paying postage with Prime due to the price hike.

I find that quite hit and miss - you do have to compare prices if you care about that but also Prime delivery is usually next day which even at the higher item price is often slightly cheaper than next day on non-prime sellers though even that depends. Personally I tend to use Prime it just for the convenience and better comeback if things don't get delivered properly.

The cheap 3rd party/copy/knockoff/fake items tend to be cheaper on eBay than amazon anyway. I guess they have lower fees or there is just more competition there.

I tend to get the proper OEM stuff from amazon (sold by amazon) or a proper retailer because it will have a warranty you can easily claim on should something happen.

Delivery arrived 10 mins past midnight, I was shocked when i checked my phone just after 11:30 to see the driver on tracker 19 stops away.

Complaint will be going in, amazon clearly need to employ extra drivers, I took it out on the driver which was wrong he said he had been out since 8am.

You can moan about yodel etc. all you like, but for me amazon logistics is by far the worst, at least those guys stick to daylight hours.

8am to midnight, haha.

I did some Amazon driving many years ago ,though only for about 3 months. Smashed 90+ stops way before anyone else via deliberately not caring. They would send drivers back out if returning with 3% of parcels, bearing in mind it was 1/1.5hr round trip from the makeshift warehouse to delivery areas.

I stopped shopping with Amazon quickly after. All the stories are real. But the ease of returns is kinda crazy, in the sense of, use it for a bit then send back.

Contacted Amazon today to complain that the carrier they used was just bad, got told that if it's broken when I open it then they'll arrange a refund.

Such a lovely generic response for a 26lb £300 item thrown over the fence onto slabs

"it won't happen again though"

Which is true, I won't buy anything of a remotely expensive nature from their site now.

Yep the guy told me he had to cover derby, nottingham and leicester which seems insane.

Whoop how did you manage to get them to use hermes?

Hehe, Dominic Lawson is not a fan either: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8011193/DOMINIC-LAWSON-long-sack-Hermes.html

Had a kind of double take when I saw that picture - the next door neighbour at one of the houses I lived in as a kid had almost the exact same setup, like freakily similar, at the foot of his garden except on the left was the wall of his garage - exactly the same vertical slat fence though it was creosoted, the gate is almost identical same layout same hinges, even the locks/bolts are 99% the same and path laid in gravel like that.

are there worse things than prime - thought this would get buried in the coronavirus thread, if i posted there

could-you-contract-corona-virus-from-your-ebay-purchase-from-china

A US laboratory chemist who received a parcel mailed via China Post’s Wuhan facility complained to the United Stated Postal Service that such parcels could potentially spread disease ‘depending on the contents of the package’.

was nonctulantly ordering something from aliexpress, now did yandex translation of the chinese address, last part beneath (google maps addresses don't work in china !)

Bulong road, Bantian Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong province

issue hadn't crossed my mind before

This is why Hermes sucks.

https://beacourier.co.uk/

I've had several different Hermes drivers and it's always been people in casual clothes delivering from their personal vehicles. I've only had one delivery turn up in a van (that was absolutely shagged). The rest were cars.

Well since it started Facebook has been full of "Be careful popping that bubble wrap, remember where all the air inside them comes from".
