Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

ohhhh amazon prime......normally i'm quite fond of thee but it seems you've taken quite the nose dive of late.

most recently, wife ordered some earbuds on a BF deal. ordered 4, something went screwy at the payment page (so she says) and 8 were dispatched. contacted live support, they advised rejecting the parcel. so we did. driver seemed a bit confused how to do it but assured me as he walked away from the door with the parcel in his hands that that was it sorted..........
couple of hours later Alexa cheerfully lets me know the parcel has been handed to the customer  . so straight on to live chat again. it's just a mistake they say, don't worry they say, once it arrives back with them they will refund. hmmmm ok.

next day, late afternoon, i go to walk out my front door and almost trip over the package that has mysteriously appeared propped against my front. lo and behold, it's the earbuds, all 8 of them. no door knock, nothing. so straight on to live chat again. oh don't worry they say, it's just a mistake they say. we'll arrange uplift and then sort refund.
at this i politely advised them of the previous conversation and told them i have rejected the parcel already and will expect my refund to come through as normal. in regards to this 're-delivery' i advise them i'm not interacting with it as i have already rejected it. very apologetic on live chat and promise it'll be fine.

turns out it was all fine. they refunded all 8 and all 8 are still sat on my kitchen table. i've twice now asked them when they are coming to uplift, each time they told me they already had been. they ain't getting asked a 3rd time......anyone want a cheap pair of earbuds :p:cry:

I've ordered it but a Jan 10th delivery which I'm not bothered about.

So scroll down this page to the Dayblazer 1500 front light and then look at the cheaper model to the right of it - doesn't make sense unless my old brain is getting confused.

I've been using their old 700 for years and decided on an update so hopefully they honour that price.
Amazon also take another 10% off it.
So I ordered this as well, and now they chaged delivery estimate to December 16. Might make a christmas gift then..

So today and the first time in ages, no ring or knock on the door, three items, one valuable, left in a small recycle bin. The expensive item did not require a verification code.

weird. usually anything of decent value, you need that six digit verification code.

So Amazon arranged collection of return today via Royal Mail.

Could I be in trouble?

Postman picked it up, complained box was large but took it.

Email during afternoon stating they collected and the exact time.
Email during evening stating they are sorry they were unable to pick it up and asking about rebooking it.

I assume the first email has me covered?

--

Just checked tracking and its logged as "they got it" and in a depot, so think its ok.

I had the same the other week. It was delivered with with no issue.

You've got the first email and the tracking will also confirm it's been collected so you're covered either way.

Superb, I can't believe they are honoring their mistake

Bought a car battery on Amazon (with Amazon as the seller) - was suspiciously cheap so I was prepared for it to possibly be not all as seemed - about £100 cheaper than other retailers (including Halfords which I'd looked at to get a general idea where it was £70 more expensive) and £50 cheaper than other equivalent models - for some reason a lot of markup on them at the moment.

Original shipping date was by the 8th, today it changed to arriving Friday, earlier had a ring at the door and it was a UPS guy with the battery - they are always grumpy about the weight of batteries for some reason despite being a specific heavy package service.

Opened up the box and was greeted by a "Thank you for shopping at Halfords" note - thought great it is probably some end of life or customer return POS - but it is sealed in the original packing and less than 11 months old, been shipped from Halfords and is testing fine.

That's a cracking deal, thanks for posting. I've ordered in the hope they honour it.

I bought the 1100 a few months ago for £30, which I thought was a really good deal anyway.

Has anyone ever had this?

On the day of delivery, we will email you a one-time password to read to the driver for delivery.

This is a new one on me.
If they are delivering to the house and house matches the account why this?

Is it for
-scenarios like house shares?
-theft by courier?

yes and yes to stop someone nicking it in transit or just leaving it in some random place. Normally only get it for things like expensive electronics.
