Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

I cancelled mine and decided to see what happens when you order (definitely amazon as the seller) without prime. Turns out that even though it was over £25 to get the free delivery, they gave the parcel to Hermes/Evri to deliver. After waiting a week past the due date, I get a certificate of damage in the email from Evri as the parcel was damaged beyond repair! I think I will end up giving Amazon a complete miss if they don't deliver the items if you don't have prime. Not only had everything got expensive, while quality of items went down hill, even the delivery sucks now.

You can get free delivery from Amazon without prime which isn’t that much slower in reality, it’s not actually that good value.

In some cases with the free delivery you can sometimes get it next day as well, depending on how busy they are.

So yeah it isn't that good of value, the only value in it is knowing 99.9% you should get an item next day, even then its not always a certain.

Yeah, this. Plenty of regular Amazon orders arrive next day or within two days.

Additionally, I don't think I've ever bought anything online that I wouldn't have been happy to wait 1 or even 2 weeks to arrive. Just don't get the "need" for things to arrive next-day.

Ads are already here. Watch something the other day that had 3 ad intervals for a 30min programme. The first one was very short then the next 2 were Uber long intervals. Kinda ruin the watching experience.

Don't forget Prime exclusive discounts and coupons... Plenty of those.
That’s fine if you actually use said value adds.

Prime day isn’t what it used to be and the same products can often be had from Amazon for the same price or less at other times of the year, likewise from other retailers.

However, the amount of people posting in this thread who say they think paying £8/month for ‘free’ delivery which they could probably get on 99% of their orders anyway is good value boggles my mind.

Free delivery was always just a bonus. I think I'll be cancelling though if the adverts are intrusive. Finding content in Prime is a pain, they seem to rearrange the UI every month and we watch Netflix more anyway

Had a delivery last week and the same guy knocked a few minutes later with a box he had forgotten, which I had tried to cancel the day I ordered but was too late and informed to cancel on delivery....Well....That works well when the two people both speak the same language and words like "No" "Cancelled" "I don't want it" obviously mean Yeah, go on I'll take it and would you like me to give you a belly tickle as well.
On checking the box was all torn on one side (inner box OK) and I then had to go through the process of cancelling and due to the price of the item, had to wait in all day for UPS to come and collect the next day, although it just stated Within 3 working days...
Few days before I watched on camera as one delivery driver just walked into the garden, threw the parcel behind the bin and didn't even knock, ring, tap or shout. By the time I got to the door (35secs) he was in another county

I've been a prime member since 2010 and several times now they've delivered what I consider great customer service. Last time being just a couple of days ago. I bought a matress from there, next day prime delivery. Problem was I didn't find it comfy enough to have a good nights sleep on (way too soft - problem of not being able to try before I buy).

Anyway, initiated a return and began to pack it away. It came rolled up in a box, 2 of us spent an hour trying eveything to get it back in the box rolled up - no chance. Amazons t & c's say returned items must be returned in the same condition and packaging they came in, I couldn't do this and thought I'm going to be stuck with a matress I don't want. I phoned Amazon (or rather they phoned me after I requested a call back), end result is they've refunded me and told me to not bother returning the matress. Not the 1st time they've helped me out.
