Amazon special seat covers messed up my leather seats - any way back from this?

Hi all

I've just removed some seat covers (which were pretty good apart from this unwanted side effect) and found that they've stained the leather seats.

I've tried Meguiar's "GOLD CLASS RICH LEATHER CLEANER & CONDITIONER", which doesn't seem to touch it.

Am I screwed? Or are there any products that can rescue this?

This is the offending item:

Dye transfer is pretty difficult to get out. You might need a more aggressive cleaner/cleaning method.

You will just need to use leather cleaners - you can also get leather dyes but it’s a very tricky process unless you can find something wipe on/off and you can just concentrate on the worst parts.

Asides from that though - that is really bad and would make me extremely annoyed. If feel your pain on this one - it’s totally unacceptable but there is likely no recourse at all

that -
I've used leathermaster foaming cleaner which is not a combo product - but, their protection cream has lifted green dye imparted by, a throw, on tan leather sofa.
first - real (non detergent eg dove) soap, cotton wool/toothbrush, damp cloth, on a discreet area.

yes I don 't find bleed unexpected - engage a professional service if its a PCP return?

Thanks all, I'll check out some more aggressive leather cleaners and see if I have any luck.

How old are they?

I'd be contacting amazon imo

This, if you've had them a few weeks then you might have some recourse. If they're a couple of years old then it'll pretty much be tough luck.

3.5 years old now. I might let Amazon know but with no expectation of recourse. They were on for ages because of the kids (who are old enough not to need hard car seats any more, hence I removed them).

It was PCP but we own the car now.

Worst case a professional can get these out, not ideal as you'd want to do it yourself due to cost but that option is available once all others are tried.

Worth looking at the car clean thread as i'm sure someone had a similar problem - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/the-car-cleaning-thread.17888389/

But second Colourlock - look at trying the mild (and working up to the strong version if need be) leather cleaner with a decent leather brush and go over the entire seat and stains a number of times.
Failing that, Colourlock also does a solvent cleaner but you just need to be cautious when using it as it strips colour/pigment.
Then protect the seats with Gtechniq L1, Colourlock Shield or similar once you have removed the stains.

Buy a new seat cover that is died the correct shade and wait 3.5 years?
