I just had a phone conversation with amazon regarding their new Underground app.

I had to factory reset my Nexus 7 and lost the original amazon appstore. They refused to give me a link to download it. Saying that I could only use the Underground app.

I got a bit peeved at this and told them I didnt agree to the permissions. I had a bit of an argument and ended up getting given a refund for all my app purchases I've ever made on it!

Bit uselss since im not sure I have even made a purchase (free app of the day ftw!), but I got swept up in the whole privacy thing. I did try to get refunds for all the free apps, making up some excuse that I would have to buy them all over again, but that didnt sit well with them.

kinda cut my nose of to spite my face, but if other people value their privace as I do, then maybe they can do the same thing (if of course it means getting actual money back for old apps they no longer use!).

What Android version do you have? You can manage the permissions rather well in Marshmallow. I have just looked and disabled all bar storage for my amazon app.

Not sure if the old amazon APK will eventually not work.
