Admittedly it's been a while since I used it and noticed the interface has changed quite a bit.

However there doesn't appear to be any access to HDR content, I tried on both my LG B7 and Shield TV, tried the ones I knew to be HDR like the Grand Tour and Mad Dogs and nothing.

Netflix is working fine, HDR content is working as expected on both devices there.

You need to find them in the UHD category it's not like Netflix where the 1080p stuff scales up automatically, if you select a 1080p version it'll only play in 1080p.

Where is the UHD stuff? I've cycled through the menus and used search and nothing is coming up.

Are they trying to hide it?

It always feels like it, the app is appalling. Why doesn’t it just go up to the highest quality depending on your TV like Netflix.

I'll have another look when I'm home, I was there for 25 minutes messing around with the video settings, restarting devices and searching for anything I knew to be HDR/UHD.

If I can't find anything I'm going to have rant at their customer service, the software is appalling, huge waste of time.

I hate the mess almost every video site, etc. makes of things like UHD and HDR, etc. never mind the DRM sometimes and then even when you do have access to them there are strange limitations on hardware compatibility, etc. plus the way their video libraries are sorted, etc. at random Amazon for instance is almost impossible to quickly find recently added videos depending on what categories it is deciding to promote at any one time - at least Netflix usually has the menu option for it at the top.

It is like they don't want these features and so on to actually succeed.

*bangs head on wall*

Agree about the software. Even on my Roku 3 it looks like an android app from the Ginjabread era. I had no idea there even was a UHD section and I've been using it for ages. The entire navigation experience is an absolute clusterduck.

Some of the TV/movie synopses read like they were written by someone who's only just learned English, the one for You've Got Mail is awful:

This is a screwball comedy of penpal romance has been updated for the internet age with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan reunited after SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE. A book mega-store owner falls in love over email with the owner of a struggling children's bookshop owner, just around the corner.

I find netflix on mobile to be a decent enough app - I wish they would have 'similar' recommendations on series like they do on movies, though (when you click through to the movie/series itself).

The Amazon mobile app is passable, but the one on my firestick is ridiculous. Just a mess.

The Amazon app is pants on a TV. You need to search for the UHD content in a maze of places. It's hidden away. Not like Netflix

There will be a blue banner In the top corner which says UHD it's easy to miss so not the best from Amazon.
