I've only had my MBP 13" for a couple of weeks. A few days after I got it, I noticed that the screen brightness was adjusting erratically in an almost pitch black room. It would keep cycling from very dim to very bright, with the keyboard lighting up and switching off as well. I wiped a finger mark off the light sensor which seemed to sort the problem, so I forgot about it. However, yesterday it started happening again.

Today it has completely stopped, but it now doesn't adjust according to ambient light either, so I have to adjust the brightness manually. The keyboard backlight is also locked off as well. I have checked that the keyboard backlight is actually still functional using 'Lab Tick'. It seems that the ambient light sensor is just either dead, or has serious issues! All relevant boxes are ticked in System Preferences.

Any ideas?
