Ambient room temperatures.

Hello,

Just in process of starting my upgrade to a 3xxx Zen2 to replace my ageing 3570k. Currently cooling is provided by dual fan Noctua DH14and 3x 120 fans: no real issues with temps.

However my PC room is filled by aircon at a steady 19c so the ambient temperature is steady (low) day and night.

In terms if upgrades would I be better sticking with what I have (need a AM4 bracket?) buy a newer version Dh-15 or get a AIO type - have been looking at BeQuiet 280mm radiator coolers. With the AC being on would this influence a cooling decision- would air or water (radiator) be better?

Noise isn't so much of an issue as the AC is a but ”clunky”!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

NH-D14 would be still very good cooler and near top in performance.
If you don't mind tight memory clearance allowing only low profile DIMMs there's no need to change it.

Heatpipe cooler is light year ahead in reliability with nothing critical to degrade/wear down.
And in cooling per noise only the best waterpipe coolers have actual advantage to high end heatpipe coolers in continuous CPU load.
(heat capacity of water slows down temp increase in short load spikes masking inadequate heat dissipation into air)
