Can anyone confirm if these are an improvement given that the past few releases have been rubbish?

I find it good, as was 10.11, the one before that being 10.4 (in my case).

The only problem I've had with any of the ones in between those mentioned above has been higher idle temps, that is all.

i just got rid of them.
crysis was taking an age to switch between window and fullscreen and UAC screen blanking took ages to come up.

uninstalled all ati stuff and put the 10.10 drivers on, now back to normal speed.

I would always recommend the latest stable drivers which in this case would be 10.12 (not 10.12a, mind you).

If they fail to deliver, try 10.10e, almost everyone found them better than other drivers. Failing that, everyone had a good experience with 10.4 (10.4a).

Used 10.11 on HD4890/ HD5870 - great driver, played all games with no problem: Crysis, Mass Effect, Bad company2, Dirt2, Starcraft2, ETC.

Now using 10.12 - no problem here too +New CCC design, but 10.11 were maybe little bit better imo

Over all, the 10.12 drivers are possibly the single best driver ATI/AMD have delivered for the Radeon GPU's.

Check the performance analysis here: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Catalyst_10.12_Performance/13.html

These drivers improve the 5000 series, but not much in the 4000 series.

The 10.12 drivers are a 3% improvement over the 10.11, which where a 3% improvement over 10.10 for the 5870 as an example.

I had no problems at all with initial install of 10.12 drivers. I tried going back to 10.10 to see if there was any performance increase in games or anything, and if anything, they were slightly worse.

Seem good to me, from 10.10 they have improved the performance of BFBC2 noticeably and I no longer get texture flickering in EverQuest 2 :)

The new CCC is much improved also, though it could still use a bit of work.
