AMD 1055t Cpu temp or Core temp?

when overclocking do i read the cpu temp or the core temp?

in everest cpu temp is running between 62-68 degrees wheres the core temp is 35-40 , my overclock is at 3.2but dont want to push it any further until i have verified its the core temp that is true.

i have been running prime 95 now for over 2 hours with no probs what so ever

motherboard is a gigabyte M720 US3 and the temp of that is 38-39 degrees.

CPU temp.
Erm, 68c is where my old 1055T used to throttle, as 62c is the maximum.

CPU temp as core temp is a bit of a fix.
Long threads have been made on this topic.
You appear to have a large difference between core and cpu temp, possibly indicative of a poor cooler or airflow, my difference is about 10C. Max load CPU 45C cores 35C at 3.5GHz vcore 1.26V
62-68 is too high particularly at 3.2GHz what voltage on the CPU.
AMD recommends 62C CPU temperature

Use Real Temp or Core Temp if you want an accurate number.

Real temp doesn't work with the 1055T as far as I know (not sure about other AMD chips) and CoreTemp reads the Core Temp not the CPU Temp. Which one you actually need to worry about has been discussed many many times.

Wasn't there a copied email from amd stating that it is the cpu temp that is important as there are no temperature sensors on each core so it is, effectively, a made up figure?

If u could point me to one of those threads, i have looked but dont seem to beable to find the answer? also i am using a corsair h50 cooler and have reapplied artic 5 paste and reseated and still get the same temps?

ok after reading the entire thread im still none the wiser??in fact im even more confused.

When idle in everest my cpu temp is 49 - core temp 22 idle, in cpuid tmpin1 is 41 and core temp 22.

surely 49 degrees idle is way to hot ?

tmpin1 sounds like it's the correct temperature, core temp is usually made up.

i just put the system unload load in prime95 and the tmpin1 temp is around 52 which is obviously quite short of the 62 max, the cpu temp in everest and tmpin2 temp are the same though both 60 degrees, so the bottom line is i should stick with monitoring the tmpin1 temp ye?

In the graphic below I opened up HWMonitor and left it idle for several minutes and then loaded up Prime95 and ran the torture test . . . TMPIN0 is showing the processor temp and TMPIN1 is showing the motherboard temp . . . it may be the other way around depending on which board you have but I'm sure you can figure it out!

Don't pay any attention to the other Core temps are these are not accurate! :cool:

ok i have 3 tmpin temps , i know the top one is my motherboard temp and tmpimn2 matches cpu core in everest which to me says that tmpin2 is my cpu temp however as i said 50 degrees idle with a corsair h50 seems way to hot and the temps are very similair unclocked?i must add that the system is stable

To work out temps maybe run easytune 6 as you have a gigabyte board. The temp monitor in that for cpu matches excatly my TMPIN1 temp in HWmonitor so would expect one of your 3 temps to match too.

As for those temps, they seem too high. Off top of my head would guess too much volts on cpu or h50 not seated right. Also have you disabled cool and quiet as would increase your idle temps.

Easy tune 6 also detects cpu as 49 degrees idle???? my h50 is def seated correctly , it only twists so far ?

In HWM what is your voltage for the CPU? Should be 1.25 to 1.35 under load.

Is your H50 pump working? Can you feel a vibration in the pipework, any pump noise?

Pump is making noise and vibration coming from pipes, voltage underload is 1.25.

Anyone else with any advice? The system is stable but still running at the same temps, it doesnt lock up or anything when on max load but i also dont want to blow the cpu.As i mentioned even when put back to stock the temps are not much cooler maybe a degree or 2?
