AMD 12.1 Driver Problem!

I recently installed the new update 12.1 on my PC but it makes my resolution to 1440x900 when it should be 1920x1080. Also get an error after installation saying AMD driver is not functioning or install the appropriate driver for my graphics card. I have installed the right one. If I go back to the 11.12 driver everything is fine, but when I play BF3 after like 10 minutes my whole PC freezes and makes a buzzing sound which it never done before.

Can anyone please help me? It's starting to really annoy me.
Thanks.

Ouch.

Can you list your full system specs first of all (including which brand).

Are you uninstalling the AMD drivers first then rebooting then installing the second drivers.

Intel i3 550 @3.20GHz
XFX 6870 Black Edition 1gb
8gb Corsair Vengeance
750w OCZ-z series
64Bit OS

On the catalyst control center it says there is an update and I do it that way. I tried removing all drivers and re-installing but it didn't seem to work either.

Interesting, I have just updated KIS to 2012 version, & for the first time had similar issues installing the 12.1 drivers.

Did try first updating through the catalyst control center, but the drivers would not install fully.
I ended up disconnecting my connection & disabled KIS while I uninstalled the old drivers & then install the latest 12.1 drivers without further issues, plugged my connection back in & rebooted.

Everything is working perfectly now.

That didn't work for me either. :/
I also forgot to say I'm running on two monitors and when I install the latest drivers they also duplicate themselves.
