So I take it the 12.6 beta is this months release?
basicly yes

With the release of the AMD Catalyst™ 12.6 Beta driver (“Catalyst”), AMD would also like to announce that we are moving away from our Monthly Catalyst release plan. Our goal is to ensure that every Catalyst release delivers a substantial benefit to our end users; as we have today with the release of the Catalyst 12.6a Beta. We will still continue with the Catalyst naming convention; Catalyst: Year.Month. You just won’t see a new driver every single month. We are confident that this will only benefit the end user; you’ll only need to upgrade to a new Catalyst driver, when it makes sense.

Makes sense moving away from monthly releases. I felt a monthly target would make the dev team rush out fixes that then break other things. No more hotfixes.

There should be a public announcement today, but I have been allowed to share this info right now:

- AMD will end monthly Catalyst driver releases starting with Catalyst 12.5 (which won't exist). They have decided to focus harder on quality and improvements vs regular updates which may not bring many new things. This way there will be no need for two separate driver development paths every month: one to get the official WHQL driver and another that keeps doing the regular driver development.
- We should expect more "hot fixes" and "preview drivers" when new games are released or urgent fixes are required.
- There is a beta driver we are testing right now that fixes the Eyefinity tearing on the third monitor when mixing outputs. I have verified that it works with Souther Islands based cards, so I don't know if it will work with previous cards. Anyway, if no major issues are found, this driver should be publicly available next week.

So these are the 12.5 but renamed 12.6 beta to go with the new driver release plan?
no

12.5 doesn't exist

example maybe there won't be any new driver till july. which would b 12.7 then maybe a beta 12.9 or something

we won't know anymore when their will release new drivers.

edit - i just checked and overscan is missing from the 12.6 driver anyway.

I use a HDTV and never had this issue till now. Normally I install driver restart I have black boarder, I then set 0% overscan and be done with it, now its just same each time I restart. :(

Just un-installed, used driver sweeper and re-installed 12.6 and its the same issue.

no problem here... automaticly goes to 0% for my screen

these driver are **** for cf/trifire. i know these are beta but nearly all the previous beta have been much better...

it seem like amd moving away from monthly drivers are making the drivers worse ,lol

There arent any.

Its either 12.4 WHQL or these.

Was reading about it, and supposedly the nameing convention is going to stay the same, well if that is rthe case why do we have the 12.6's already?

Surely these are the 12.5 betas?
no,.

they've just skiped a month .. because maybe 12.5 driver didn't add much or fix much.

why is it hard to understand.... 12.6 driverrs are a preview/beta, just like windows 8 is a preview... amd as said they won't release WHQL drivers every month. but they'll be releasing more preview/beta and hotfix drivers

so for example amd may release WHQL 12.6 then 12.8 then 12.11 then 12.12, and have preview/beta and hotfix drivers in between.
