Competition for Nehalem?
Last I checked the top end of P2 was barely in touch with Core2Quad, let alone i7/i5.

Disapointed at the low res on the games benchmarks, if your using a PhII or I7 your not going to be running @ 1280x1024.

But if you bench a processor at higher resolutions the GPU becomes a bottle neck and all you end up with is your CPU's tied. Best to keep things simple and drop the res.

Also in that preview, they have the Phenom II overclocked to a good 4.2GHz against stock speed Core i7-965, and still, the Phenom II loses in some benchmarks.

To true, in other benches the stock PII 940 beats the stock i7-965.
What is the stock speed of an £800 i7-965 anyway ? 3.2Ghz, 3.4GHz, higher ? This dynamic turbo mode only confuses matters.

I would ignore making an issue of the PII @ 4.2 until people can reach that on avg & look at the stock speeds which includes turbo mode for the Intel's.

i7-965 3.2Ghz turbo, i7-920 2.93Ghz turbo or there about's.
