Hi Guys,

I've just got myself a Ryzen 7 2700x with a Aorus X570 AORUS ELITE. i'm using Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 to cool the CPU. Full spec below.

Currently i cannot overclock it past 4.05ghz, even at base clock it wont go pass 4.05 with turbo enabled.

I have my Vcore set at 4.1V, i'm also reaching 80c straight away on benchmarking.

Is this a cooler issue? or have i just lost the silicon lottery badly?

Specs
  • 4.05ghz 2700x Ryzen
  • Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240
  • Aorus X570 AORUS ELITE
  • 16gb RAM @2800mhz (can run at 3200mhz but wont let me maybe faulty?)
  • GTX1070 Palit (stock speed)
  • 1200WATT Platinum PSU

That voltage is really high and I can see the minimum has been almost as high. Maybe you're reaching power limits too quickly because the voltage is so high all the time?

What does the CPU boost to at dead stock? Ryzen 2000 and 3000 don't have a lot of overclocking headroom and do pretty well managing their own boost clocks. Then they will clock down and lower voltage too, dropping temps.

Have you checked the cooler mounting also? Does the radiator get warm?

On stock, i get maybe 4.1 on a couple of cores at a time. never on all 8 also i'm getting roughly 1.38-1.42 Vcore on Stock. I've reseated the cooler with new heatsink but hasn't made a difference so far. i have also updated BIOS to latest, but nothing yet. - Also i dont feel any heat coming from the watercooler, wonder if the pump isn't providing enough rpm
