I currently have the 3500 but I think Im going to need some more grunt soon to be able to play the newer games. Will the 4600 Dual make much of a difference? My K8N Neo2 will take the 4800 dual but im finding the 939 version very hard to find. I recently emailed the OcUK staff about the 4200x2 but they said dont bother, Id be better off with a new system.

I would go C2D because you would see a noticeable improvement in games and overall performance from the 3500. Im in the same boat and am finding it hard to get 939 processors, so i just decided to go the C2D route.

If you cant source 939 4600 or 4800 for fair price instead of the over inflated prices everywhere, then i would suggest moving away from 939 so agree with above. To give you an idea with regards to potential gains though, went from 4000 to 4800 myself and saw very big improvement in general.

I've just moved from a 4000 and ordered an opty 165 - gunna hope its a good stepping ... 2.6-2.8 would be nice!

I'm only staying with 939 for now cos i bought a decent 2gig DDR kit late last year and have a half decent gfx card so don't fancy upgrading all those just yet ;)
