Hi everyone i have an AMD 3800+ 2.4 and i think its to slow for my vista im running and so im thinking of going for a 4600+ X2 2.6 is this worth the money? i dont really want to go over to intel right yet as i dont whant to buy another motherboard atm i will change for good quad cores when the time comes...

when i try to overclock i change 2 things.

the first the multiplier...i normaly set it to x10
the second being the cpu freq...i start at 200 then move up 5 at a time

what else do i need to do as i dont want to supply to much voltage or ive heard the cpu will melt so what other options am i meant to change

after i get the processor to about 220 freq. i have to sert it back to defult because it stops booting up the screen just flashes any help is great. thanks

ok so what do i need to change. i just tryed again now with no sucess.

i leaft multiplier at auto and left CPU Voltage at Defult

changed the cpu frq. to 1.05 and my processor went from 2.41 to 2.61 i then went back and changed it upto 1.10 and my pc went to blue screen and rebooted so i changed settings back to defult settings and now its fine. what did i do wrong. i have a phenoix bios setup i think.
