Hi Guys,

I have the above CPU AM2 chip in a AlifeNF4G-DVI and would like some help. I have increased the FSB and got a small increase of about 70mhz. I have not changed any setting such as multiplier or voltage.

I know from reading the forum that I should lower the multiplier adn start to increasde the FSB in small amounts and check by benching the PC to check if stable.

I have tried that but with no look as if I drop the multipler by 1 and then increase the FSB I can only get to around the same speeds as stock settings.

The volt setting is auto and goes upto 1.4v in bios.

I have also see this on the Asrock web site

"Hybrid Booster - ASRock Safe Overclocking Technology
Untied Overclocking : During Overclocking, FSB enjoys better margin due to fixed PCIE/ PCI Buses"

Is this an application that comes on the support CD (i dont have support cd).
or is it somthing that helps you in the bios and makes the amendments automatic so you just alter fsb settings or somthing like that.

Sorry still learning. Any help would be great.

P.S
Running a 7900GS, 2 x 512 ddr 2 ram and a sata 2 hd 320g. 580w Tigan PSU.

LONG and VERY in-depth guide to overclocking an Athlon 64. Deffo worth the read and also has a link for a very handy calculator to help you work out what dividers to use etc.

This is helpful.
Mine is 939 got it @ 12x222 core1.375v HT x4
Corsair ddr 2 x 512 2-3-2-6 2T @ 2.8v
ASUS A8N-SLi Premium - it has auto overclock which gave 8% but 10% unstable.
What make is the RAM?

This is to find max speed of ram
You then put ram on divider & increase FSB with normal divider to max the CPU.
What are you using to bench?
