well im thining of upgrading my cpu and im abit stuck. On one hand i could get a 46oo am2 x2 for 140ish or 6400 for about 150 but also need to spend about 100 on mb which makes 250.im already on am2 and have a 3800x2 so dunno would it be better to get 4600 and spend 100 one diff graph card and a bit say get a 1950 pro or just get core 2 duo . not oc as im a noob mainly for gaming.i have a 7600gt at mo thanks.

Yes it definately will but at least you have a decent DX10 card.

Otherwise I'd just get a 1950pro/xt and save some cash towards your next upgrade.

Overclock the 3800 if you haven't already.
The 4600 won't overclock much past what the 3800 will do (unless you've got a poor clocker). The saved cash can go towards a beefier GFX card, or saved.

how come your wanting to upgrade? no offense but i know a 17" monitor generally does 1280x1024 so even a athlon 64 3200 and x800/6800 would be able to run max for all details in almost all games. so your rig must be running stuff pretty decent at the minute i'd have thought?

cause ill probably get bigger screen say 19 soon and my 3800x2 is not as quick as i thought it would be.

well overclock it too 4600 save some money and quite a few people around here have 8800gts/x on a 19" screen
