Bought an Iiyama 4k panel to go with my 295X2

Set displayport to 1.2 and loaded up a game (dishonored)

Game flickers on and off as if its changing inputs and it's not playable

i tried 3 different (certified) displayport cables, same issue on all of them. If i change the setting on the monitor to DP 1.1, it works, albeit at 30hz

Connected my laptop to the monitor using Displayport (8800m) and it works fine @ 60hz, no issues at all

Bought a new BenQ 32" 4k panel, same issue on the Radeon, work's perfectly on the Nvidia
I've tried a clean driver install, increasing power limit using MSI afterburner and i am totally lost what to do

I'm stuck with a beautiful monitor and a £750 GPU that can't game at 4K

Why does it work perfectly on the Nvidia, and will not work at all (except in Windows) on the AMD?

Can anyone help at all?

Thanks

I went through a few leads on my Radeon's trying to get 144Hz to display at 1440P and thought I was out of luck (worked with no problems on my GTX cards) till I got a ugreen lead. Now works a treat and I suspect the same for you with your 4K/60Hz.

Not sure I can link the lead as it was from the rainforest and they might be seen as a competitor.

a) Did you tried to run Dishonored by having a profile with CF OFF?
b) Are you using DP1.2 compatible cable?
c) Do you use mDP to DP adaptor that came with the 295X2 or cable mDP to DP?
d) Have you tried DVI?
e) Have you created a custom profile for Dishonored for Crossfire?
f) Which AMD Drivers you use?
g) Have you overclocked the 295X2?
h) Try to disable ULPS.
i) Only Dishonored has the issue or all games?
j) Vsync OFF or ON?

And I assume you have patched the game to the later version, had flickering issues with SLI & CF when it came out 4 years ago.

Have the same monitor maybe B2888UHSU? And I'm running a 7990 older dual GPU card.

Cable that comes with monitor should be fine as I'm using mine. Make sure it is plugged into the inner DP socket on the monitor. \read somewhere you are meant to use that one and not the outer one.

Many thanks for all the excellent ideas, especially Panos, much appreciated

I followed each of your steps:-

a) Did you tried to run Dishonored by having a profile with CF OFF? Yes
b) Are you using DP1.2 compatible cable? Yes
c) Do you use mDP to DP adaptor that came with the 295X2 or cable mDP to DP? Mini DP to DP cable
d) Have you tried DVI? No
e) Have you created a custom profile for Dishonored for Crossfire? Yes
f) Which AMD Drivers you use? latest
g) Have you overclocked the 295X2? Yes
h) Try to disable ULPS. - Yes
i) Only Dishonored has the issue or all games? All
j) Vsync OFF or ON? Both

However, i uninstalled MSI Afterburner and reset my GPU to stock, and also reinstalled AMD drivers after cleaning registry etc, and it's now working!

thanks so much for all your help!

Great to know you got it sorted. :)

I have read about people having similar issues with their 290X cards and 4K with a fairly aggressive overclock on core and or VRAM.

Welcome mate.

I had* a 295X2 and indeed has few quirks. When is working is a star, but some games do have issues and need fiddling. -_- And is not actually issue with the card but developers. (Creative Assembly is on the wall of shame top position and honorable mentioning all the time).

If you use Crimson, MSI AB should be uninstalled. All problems with 295X2 and R9 Nano I had were related to MSI AB. I use Trixx and everything if fine.
Asus Tweak is also a good.

And thats all. Everything else especially "current" games, work beautifully with the 295X2. I have mine back in it's box, and while I want to sell it (at around £330-350), cannot find the "strength" do the step.
