**AMD 5700 X3D Owners CLub**

I have just updated to this from a 3900x using the same RAM and Mobo. Seeing some nice gains across most games.

Here are some before and after benchmarks. Feeling it was indeed worth it.

Anyone else feeling to update some older 3x series or lower?

Still sat on the fence whether to get one to replace my 3900XT. I just can't decide if it's worth it with my 2080Ti at 1440p.

Looking at importing one, so if i can sell on my 3900XT for about £90ish, then it's only about a £50 upgrade.
I've got some benchmarks showing the differences which I'll post later. I'd say yes tbh

Is there much anyone has done to tweak their 5700X3d? with mine I just plonked it in left everything stock and set the memory to XMP and left it at that. I ran a few cycles of Prime95 and noticed a drop of 2-3 oC in my CPU temps, assume its because the thermal paste bed in?

I think the memory isn't 100% compatible with the mobo as I get random issues in windows and the Corsair website doesn't list it as being tested/approved for Ryzen. So I bought a Kingston Fury Renegade 32 gb RGB kit that has been tested for compatibility with my board
I found any overclocking actually dropped performance as I lost the boost speed and it would run at 3200mhz. I left mine at stock in the end and got great performance.

Mine arrived this morning, long live AM4! Now for a better GPU...
That's the trouble. One upgrade leads to another, then another and so on lol. I'm trying to think of something else I "need".

Also, I suggest the 7900 XTX for a GPU. Price is coming down and can be had reasonably with fantastic performance.

I've been on a bit of a binge. The only parts not upgraded are the Mobo and SSDs, HDDs, cooler and RAM. The RAM was done last year anyway, as was the AIO. I have spent about as grand or so on parts including this processor. Loving my new case which I had to get as the GPU didn't really fit in my H500i with and Rad there. I had to prop up the GPU with an old plug spanner lol.

I've just ordered this CPU even though I was waiting for the 5800x3D to drop in price - the cost of the 5700x3D in comparison was too good to ignore!

I am upgrading from a 3600 on an Asus x570 Prime Pro.

Anything particular I need to do for the upgrade (other than update the bios) ?
Don't forget to take the old one out first! Don't get any TIM on the socket. I did that once and had a hell of a job sorting it out. I had to use IPA in the end.

I honestly dont think it will be that much nippier than the 3900XT which has actually aged quite well, but dont need to do as many compile jobs nowadays so it'll be better
It's better in games for sure. I have gained quite a few FPS.
