so, will you pre-order as soon as you can and if so what brand would you likely go for?
or will you wait to see what benchmark scores home users have posted here on OCuK?

personaly i was going to pre order the 5870 replacement (6870/6970??) as ive been getting the tech upgrade bug :D but ive decided to stick with 1 5870 (did have 2 just sold 1) untill we get a good over all picture of the performance increase the 6*** series has to offer. if its marginal then il wait to see what non-reference variants turn up

I'm trying to hold out, and preorder, but with 480's @ today's price I am finding it very very tempting

Pre-order the Cayman 6970 instead of moving sideways...

So far the current rumours are leaning towards to more power efficient GPU's for the 6000 series, rather than performance biased.

But these are just rumours :)

when i said

i didnt mean the equivalent in performance, i ment their replacement for their fastest single GPU... wether they are gonna call it the 6870 or 6970 we still dont know for sure do we??

Yeh, if Barts performs well, I would probably feel confident pre-ordering a Cayman.

The more people pre order the more the prices will inflate. Just sit tight, wait a few weeks and get one for the retail price. That is what i will be doing(If i get one that is)

+1

And don't pre order until you see the performance numbers.
