Currenty have the following:

Gigabyte M51GM-S2G
AMD 3800+ single core
4GB Corsair RAM
74GB Seagate Raptor Hard Drive
EVGA 7900 GTX 512mb

I would like to upgrade the CPU, so would I be better to buy a AMD 6000+ Dual Core for my current motherboard for £136 exVAT or buy a Intel E6600 Dual Core with a Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H iG965 motherboard for £198 exVAT.

Thanks,
Alastair.

Just had a quick check on gigabyte's website (I hadn't even thought to check  ) and I would have to update my Bios version but yes will support the 6000+

Prob not going to overclock as I only have a passable knowledge of PC's and would not trust myself not to do something horrific (at which point I'd probably just cry). Think I'll plump for the 6000+, as it seems to most obvious upgrade route and I'm all for an easy life :)
