I have an Asus M2N32-Sli Deluxe motherboard, AMD 6000 X2, 4x1Gb OCZ 800mhz.I have done some overclocking before; however I have seen people's
sigs and reviews/ other forums they have it running at 3.3Ghz+ (good air cooling) - on the same motherboard, I can't even get to 3.2Ghz. I have tried
messing around with the chipset voltages and vcore and ram voltage, all to no avail.

Any suggestions please

I have heard overclocking with full dimms affects the overclock but, i would have thought that a 200mhz wasn't out of the question:(

i don't know whats stopping it, as the ram runs fine at 900mhz now, so i have still have scope with the ram if using x15 multi instead of x14. i have fiddled withe the chipset voltages, the only thing that i havn't tried is putting serious voltage through the chip; i have only gone to 1.475, but my mobo goes to 1.56.....

the issue is that i'm not sure what becomes dangerous and affects the life dramatically of the cpu, as i have seen people saying 1.5v+ for 90nm chips or other 1.60v+

what do u think?

also how different is the crosshair to my board, what settings are you using ie chipset voltages?

Thanks

I have to use 1.6v to get to my clock but yes they dont clock very well. core 2 duo *** be the way to go if u want more power!

Matt.

please could you tell me your cpu cooler and your motherboard setting, and ram timings and voltage, so you think that maxing the voltage will allow me to hit 3.4ish?

Thanks

1.6v i can get it stable at 3.4Ghz but i run it at 3.5Ghz it isnt stable after 45mins but it doesnt crash in anything games or software i use so thats fine :-)

Matt.

I ups the motherboard volts also to cope,

HT link 1.45
NB link 1.45
SB core 1.5
SB pll 1.5

I'm worried about all this overvolting so I try to stay within a margin of stock settings.

also

CPU - NB x4
NB - SB x5

all other settings are stock.
