AMD 6450 card is playing in 1000p24 instead of 1080p? and a 3D DVI question

Hi all,

man so far I wish I never got this damn ATI card and went for a GT 430 instead.

After many hours faffing about I finally got 3d working. Turned out that the last 2 revisions of catalyst drivers break the hardware acceleration for blurays in TMT and PDVD11.

Now that thats sorted by reverting to an older drive, the other issue I have is that when it changes to 1080p24 (as reported by the TV) the screen is smaller than the tv display. I then checked catalyst while in this mode, and its actually changing the display to 1000p24 resolution instead of the 1080. Unfortunately while in this resolution it seems unable to change the overscan, or have the tv correct the size.....resulting in an annoyingly smaller screen.

Any ideas on if this is fixable, as have tried alsorts.

I'm on the verge of jacking it in and getting a GT430 now though don't know if that will do the same too.

Secondly, am I right in thinking that the card cannot output 3d using the DVI port? (least it doesnt when I try - cable without sound carrier)

Thanks,
Tuck
