Have just seen the Inquirer article pointing out that the new AMD Brisbane core can be had for as little as $115, and should have even greater overclocking potential than current offerings.

Any idea when we'll be able to get these on OCUK, and if they'll be worth it?

i think they will prob clock the same as the 90nm parts! 2.8-3ghz tops!

i think the only real advantage is the 10% energy saving

amd need a new architecture me thinks! roll on quad core :p

They are likely to clock more, they run at the same speed as their 90nm counterparts, with less voltage....

AMD have been pretty clear than 939 is dead, haven't they? No new SKUs, just what's left in the channel.

have been reports online that they clock to about 3.1Ghz using standard method, temperatures very low but seemed to hit the same clock speed brick wall as the 90nm parts, but thats the first batch of chips, so possible later revisions of the chip might clock higher, i reckon we will get 3.4Ghz or so out of them (hopefully) but there the same clock for clock as the earlier 90nm parts, K8L is the best hope for AMD parts anytime soon :(

any core 2 duo processor really (and its not often i recommend intel to anyone) but its getting to the time where its nesseccary, its intel or nobody at the moment :(
