I've got my 6800XT linked to my LG48CX via HDMI cable.
I've got my Denon AVR-S760 connected to the TV ARC socket.

All output from the TV (Freeview, Native TV apps like Netflix, Fire TV Stick, PS5 etc.) is being picked up as surround, except the PC which is prompting the Denon to switch to stereo output as soon as I switch it on.

Why is my GPU sending stereo output to the TV and how can I change this?

TIA

You need to set audio output settings as bitstream.

Load up MPC HC and in audio decoder select all formats your AVR supports.

I don't know about Nvidia audio output in four settings I can't find mine in ATI ryzen laptop settings either.

Then play DD, DTS movie/TV show, then hd audio and Atmos

For games you'll need to use DTS/DD live encoder, as games are usually stereo pcm. I use a DSP mode on my avr. Or if use dedicated soundcard that has DD live encoder but that means lossy encoding so if game has had sound it's downsampling

If you can output multi channel pcm over hdmi in games perhaps that might work

Another option would be use your soundcard analogue outputs into the Denon 5.1 analogue RCA input.

Your Denon doesn't have analogue 5.1 input

I'd try sending multi channel pcm from your pc hdmi to the Denon.

Try and get movies working in original sound first once that's working you know got that done

Wow, I had no idea it was this much grief trying to get proper audio output from PC - everything else seems to cope with ease, even my Amazon stick and native LG apps.

Thanks for the assistance @hornetstinger, but I'll stick to my Audeze cans with the PC :)
