AMD 690G - Anyone know when and where ?

Kinda thinking that these may be the (next ) Holy Grail for HTPC use.....anyone got any reliable info on release dates, models, prices ?

I have read somewhere that AMD's new platform has changed to socket F (1209).

I have read about the nVidia nForce 680a, it features 2x Socket F for 4x4 operation meaning 2 Quad Core CPUs on one Motherboards and 8 DIMM sockets for DDR2 also on one Motherboards. Details are coming slowly.

Not sure about the SocketF thing.....my understanding is that the AMD 690G chipset will be utilising AM2 for the time being......besides, let's be honest, SocketF thing is all well and good from a proof-of-concept standpoint, but still doesn't really compare to a top-end C2D ! I have been a AMD guy for years, but nothing can currently match Conroe Still, for my HTPC, the AMD offerings are ideal
