AMD 69XX delayed officially ?

maybe, just maybe, they have planned to let nvidia think AMD have screwed up and delay to re-evaluate and tweek, when infact they have been able to produce more for less in the delay period, ready to release a big can of whoop-ass,with 20-30% gains on the 580, with loads and loads of stock ;)

gibbo.... bloody fast
raven.... huge % increase via inside
magicroundabout..... huge % increase via inside
catalyst maker via twitter... 15th is gonna be huge
charlie SA......laughing his ass off at the benchmarks

my money is on a fast card !

Heh - keep dreaming :p

As the release date of any new card draws closer, and the frequency of leaks increases, we get an increasingly clear picture of performance as leaked results tend to converge. The picture that's emerging is of performance that lies somewhere between the GTX570 and the GTX580. It would take something truly extraordinary to happen for this to change now, and any notion of massive improvements over the GTX580 are simply unrealistic.

General-purpose comments from salesmen, or predictions from forum members (with claims of inside information attached) can't stand against benchmarks from a retail-bought card.

Since he works for OcUK, and actually has access to the cards, I think his predictions are a little closer to fact than those from others on the forum ;)

Could be, could still be wrong. ;)

The cards they have might now have the latest, HUGE :p drivers... These guys only work at retail, not a reviewing, if those words had been said by Guru3D or Anand I might have paid more attention, but they haven't.

We will see, I will refrain to comment one way or the other until Wednesday... but I sense some people might be eating hats, their words or be editing their posts quickly after 5am on Wednesday... may be even ocuk employees :)

Or might not ;)

As long as it creates massive price drops on the 5850's im not to bothered how it performs, all i want is cheap cfx from this release if im honest.

I doubt anyone seriously believed it would beat a 580 by 30%+, I'm just hoping it trades blows with the 580 while being much cheaper and the current mood is still that its disappointing with that expectation.

SLI'd 460's or Crossfired 6850's is the way to go for ~£280 GTX580 beating performance. Both options will also overclock futher than the 580 and provide better overall FPS.

when he said he had enough cards for xmas and january he wasn't joking...if things carry on the way they seem to be going he'll have enough to last him february, march, april, may and june.

Maybe we'll see some nice discounts before the 7 series launch??

Methinks NVidia will be raising Fermi prices soon. If stock is being gobbled up as soon as 580's hit the shelves and there is no direct competiton......
