Must be either yeild issues or the 580 is better than they expected and they need to modify the cards to increase clock rates to compete.
580 is as good as expected.
I suspect yield issues.

You don't understand.
AMD have nothing against the 480, who cares if the 580 doesn't sell (Which I think it will), the 480 still will.
What? they are delayed, I gave a reason why that might be.
I understand perfectly fine.
I doubt it, 6970's rumoured specs should put it at least at 580 performance. When you compare a 6870 to a 5870 and see how they improved efficiency, it's obvious a cayman GPU with the same improvements and a higher shader count is going to be pretty powerful. If it doesn't at least match a 580, it's a fail.
Only thing is, two weeks doesn't let you fix yield issues to be honest. But it does let you reflash a bunch of cards.580 is as good as expected.

If it's to do with the 580, I'd suspect they've realised there's no rush as it's nothing special, or something along those lines. £400 graphics cards don't sell very well regardless of who makes them anyway.

Take off your green goggles.
At the lowest rumored spec it'd make the 6970 faster.
No, you really don't.
AMD needed the 6950 out.
OCUK showing 10 left.
Out of 100 according to Gibbo.
They sold ok.
One reason - bar 'real' delay - I can think of is that they have heard Nvidia wont have more shipments of the 580 before the same week. In fact, quickly checking OCUK shows 12th on the etas.
What exactly is it that's biased?Kyle, the 5970 is EOL, OCUK have what, one massively overpriced SKU?
EDIT : I'm sorry right, but as much as I like AMD, I can't stand the biased opinions frm Kylew.
What exactly is it that's biased?
Everything.
90 cards isn't a high number. The mind range cards sell by the hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
