Hi all going to build a new system this week and ripping my 10 year old i3 cpu out and I am going for a Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX motherboard

The questions are

1. Can a AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600 cpu handle full on bitrate hdr without a gfx card as I am not in the market for a gaming system until, later down the line when I add a card.
2. Which ram is good to match the system as I am after 2 x 8gb ram stick. Not to sure on timings and speed. Don’t want to cripple the cpu or a later upgraded cpu.
3. Is there a better motherboard and I have herd problems with 2.5gb network which I need with an intel network chipset. I am sure the above motherboard uses a Realtek so that should not be a problem.

Thanks for any help or advice or anything I should avoid

Thanks.

I think it has a media engine with the same features as RDNA 2, so it should be feasible.

5600 C36 and up is alright, preferably 6000. If you might buy an X3D in the future then it matters less.

Honestly though, this is mega overkill, you can get all the modern features like AV1 decode with an i3-12100/i3-13100 and that can use a cheap board with DDR4.

Cheers if I am going to spend on a low ish spec I would prefer a system that can be upgraded in the future for 4K gaming but I think for a am5 system the 7600 seems the cheapest cpu. If it can handle 4K hdr full on bit rate videos.
