AMD 7870 buzzing during 3D games...

OK, the moment I enter State of Decay I get a buzzing starting. The moment I ALT-TAB out, it stops... The moment I ALT-TAB back in it starts again.

I get the same with other games, but substantially less. It seems to start the moment a game starts, and stops immediately afterwards?

Possibly? I've seen a video of coil whine where the "note" changes, and mine is more of a buzz changing rate?

Possibly the same thing just a different resultant noise?

Would say coil whine also, my 7970 does it. It's not really an issue though unless you game with the sound off.

Appears to be coil whine, i did have it with one of my 7970's and in certain menu's and games it would changed pitch and sound completely different dependent on the program running.

Its all but gone now after hours of playing games, mining and folding.

Some cards get quieter with time, try leaving it on a game menu overnight.

Mine had coild whine early on, quite noticeable. its gone now, brand-new GPU, some of them whine, its nothing unusual, give it time for the coils to bed in and it will go away.

My 7950 had coil whine with one game, Grid 2 it was really strange but haven't heard it since.

Sorry should have been more clear, my coil whine did clear itself up but not all card do (or they are not stressed enough for long periods to 'bed them in')

It was very noticeable with my card because it was watercooled and was the loudest part of the system.
