I have 2 sata drives in bios ide mode
I want to convert to raid 1
so far I did this:
change bios to raid mode
setup 2 LDs with one drive each in RAID READY mode
reboot
change bios boot order to scsi-0
reboot
ntldr loads ok (proves mbr and volume readable)
but I get bsod during driver loading
(the plan was to use RAIDXpert to convert to raid 1)
I have all up-to-date bios, drivers, etc.
In the raid bios I turned off "fast-init" and did not overwrite the mbrs
it should be possible to convert to raid 1 without wiping the drives
I can't determine if letting the raid bios overwrite the mbr is a destructive operation ...
any ideas?
[edit] I thought the raid signature / super block would go at the end of the drive?
