Amd 7950 power connectors

I want to upgrade from my 480GTX, gaming at 1920x1080, what's my best option ?
Mainly play skyrim, BF3 and FSX.
Cannot make up my mind between amd 7950,7970 or nvidia 670.

I bought the vtx3d through a competitor and it has the "v2" added to the product title. I think the card you are linking to is the "v1".
V1 is a reference hd7950 pcb with 2 x 6 pin connectors while the v2 is a reference hd7970 pcb with 1 x 6 + 1 x 8 pin connector.

I downgraded from a gtx680 because I don't play as much anymore and I got the vtx3d card running at 1035 / 1450 on stock voltage. In bf3 I can hardly tell the difference when playing.

I'm not so sure a 7950 would be a big enough boost over a 480GTX to persuade me to part with a not inconsiderable amount of cash!

As we know, the 7950 is comparable to a 580GTX with the 7950 perhaps edging it slightly dependant on games.

A 480 can easily offer 580 performance with a fairly small overclock.

The choice is yours obviously, but If I was in your position I'd probably make the 480 last until the next generation of cards.

Use MSI Afterburner and clock the nuts off your present card!! :p

Decided I am going to change cards while the 480gtx is worth a little bit of money, next year it will be worth nothing I guess, plus it will be out of warranty.

Is the 7970 worth the extra ? or just go 7950 and save £80 ?
Want the best for BF3, screen resolution 1920 x 1080.
Thanks for the help.
Open to other suggestions.

Just checked and both my monitors are dvi not hdmi connections, so that kind of limits it to what I can get :(
Do I need an extra cable for dual link dvi ? or does an adaptor or cable come in the box ?

Let me join into this discussion with a similar question:
Does Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X OC here has 6+8 pins hence 7970 PCB and extra vrm sections, when compared to Sapphire 7950 FLEX DUAL-X this one??

Or did I get confused with all those reviews already ??

Edit: MyBrains, can you set up your trust so I could get in touch with you? or PM through trust yourself please.
