I would think so yes, is the 960T unlocked and overclocked?

Whether it is an economical upgrade is more open to doubt, especially just for gaming.

The 960t is a 4 core at 4.1mhz can't unlock cores.

Also I don't mind changing to windows 8 if that would help.

Borderlands 2 is ok on single player but if I try and host a 3-4 player game it falls to pieces.

Battlefield 3 online is ok but processor is always running 90%+ and think it is causing frame drops.

My board is a am3 m4n98tdevo and it is one I got cheap second hand and it works perfectly and is good for overclocking but the sound qaulity is not that good and the core unlocker is not great.
