AMD 939 and AM2

Hi,

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2.40GHz (Socket AM2)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939)

Which is better? The AM2?

I want to upgrade, so I can use DDR2 as well. I'm especially wondering about what board I should buy. I have a Hiper 580W psu and a 7900 GTX which I'd like to get more use out of, but I'm thinking of upping the rest.. I don't want those extra's like SLi and things, but I do want a relatively decent board this time, and for AM2. I have a huge case which fits almost every type of board. Do you have a recommendation?

I guess I could spend about 300 all in all, maybe 400

My case says it fits these: Micro ATX, ATX, Extend ATX, BTX will it hold the gigabyte?

Damn, I installed this stuff, and it totally kills my x2 3800.
