AMD (939) X2 3800, 4200, 4600

Which of these chips offer the best overclock potential?

Looking at around 2.6-8ghz, not to bothered about volts as long as its under 1.6v.

3800 easy

I have seen some good clocks with these, however would it not be easier to get to 2.6 starting from 2.2-4 instead of 2ghz, thats like a 30% o/c.

My 4200+ does 2.6 on stock volts and 2.75 on 1.5v

Sounds good, is that a newish one? ( I know they don't make them anymore )

My AM2 4800 did 3GHz on air, I suspect pretty much any new fabbed X2 is going to get to 2.8GHz without much bother to be honest if you've got the right board and cooler to go with it.

cymatty , wait a bit, there is a very nice price drop about to happen on the X2 chips wait in line like the rest of us and grab a cheap one! then the overclocking begins!

Probably the X2 4200 as long as they are around the £160 mark, if not then the 3800.

DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D
1gb Mushkin Redline Extreme @260mhz 2-3-2-6
A64 3200 @2.6ghz 260x10
ATI X800 gto ( i know i am not a big gamer )

I am looking at getting 4x Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 NCQ 80GB SATA-II for RAID 0
