Upgraded from an AMD 6000+ @ 3.1 GHZ...blown away by the speed. The supplied HSF was surprisingly good ...ok I've got good airflow...but it's currently OC'd to 3.6 Ghz at stock volts on the included fan ..

so he's overclocked using the standard AMD fan, the same as mine, that's interesting...

but i doubt it'll be any good close to 4.0 ....unless you lap it, because mine was pretty rough....i also read yesterday that this style of fan runs 4 degrees cooler with the case side off, like mine.

the standard cooler might work better with a larger fan too..... just food for thought

i'm after the Prolimatech Megahalems Performance CPU.......... i think!

You can do a lot with the Phenom II's. You just need to make sure you keep it happy and cool as the P2's can take a lot of v's if need be but the only thing that makes it unstable is the blasted so called "heat wall".

I've got my 940 to oc to about 3.8/9 on the stock cooler... it was only for a bit of fun as you couldn't really run it at those speeds 24/7.

If you get the mega or the true then i dont see why you wont be able to get 4ghz+ out of it.

yes this is what i like to read

but the Stock AMD cooler might work even better with more mods, i noticed it could do with solder between the copper pipes and the base cooler plate...there isn't 100% contact in this area......plus a more powerful fan/ bettter lapping...it might make an interesting project
