Any idea of when pre-orders for this will be open again? Got a friend wanting an AM5 x3d CPU but I've been telling him to wait for a 9800x3d as there's not much point buying the 7800x3d for the same price as a 9800x3d..

So is this like, a support thread to help each other until they arrive?

I ordered the other day and it said mid-late January and then had an email saying it would be later than stated but I'm hoping thats just an automatic email due to it being a pre-order.

Everything else is here with my PSU and case arriving by Thursday
 
Is it weird that I'm looking forward to the 5090/5080 version of this thread?

"I ordered at 14:03:26.178, 12ms before the other guy, credit card, DPD, where's my dispatch email????" :cry:

For the 5090 launch I'm going to be parked outside the OCUK warehouse in order to get sub 3ms latency on my order and thus get it 4 weeks before anyone else.

I was planning to go one step further. Apply for a job at OCUK, get employee's priority, get the 5090 and just keep working at OCUK till retirement.
 
When that happens I'll be keeping an eye on used 4070 Ti Super cards. Unless the 5 series are something else. 3080 still chugging along.

as soon as you place the order. I have pre ordered 3 things (done in their own orders so none are held up by the other) and all the money has been paid and just waiting on them coming back in stock.

hello to everyone!! just got an email from OCUK saying 9800x3d is back in stock, may i be able to know how many units?
im on the preorder queue and am literally dying for one.

lol, I actually received 2 of them, but I cant use them yet as the motherboard and contact frame is out of stock and holding up my next order!

I placed an order for a 9800X3D, mobo and ram, power supply and a case. (case and power supply are for the plex server I am building)

I did 1 order for the items in stock (Ram and PSU) and then did 3 extra orders for each pre order item to stop any of them being held up by the other as I have heard stock is not allocated until all items are in stock.

Motherboard is arriving today, just waiting on the 9800X3D and the case after this

Yeah I wish I could do that, but minimum shipping for me is £45.83, even for a memory stick, so would get a bit expensive.

That sucks, I get free delivery which was why I did it as 3 extra orders, if I had to pay for delivery I would be doing the same thing

May I ask why you ordered a contact frame? I was debating ordering 1 as well but didn't in the end

The CPU is an odd shape, so will help to catch the overflow thermal paste. Apparently using an AIO you gain a couple extras degrees lower. It's cheap enough anyway, so worth the try.

May have to get 1 as well then. God knows when the 9800X3D is going to arrive though lol
