hmm rumours are 9950x3d out in jan, do i keep my pre ordered 9800 or cancel and wait!
Would depend on when you can buy the 9950X3D.
Going by the product page for the 9800X3D any orders after midday on the 28/11/24 can not be garmented before Christmas and are expected mid to late Jan. By this point the 9950X3D maybe available before the 9800X3D is even in stock (if rumours are correct of it being released in Jan)

unfortunately i was a late one, 3rd dec, so im probably in the febuary list!

I wonder if it will have 3d cache on both chiplets. The leaks say no, but who knows. Last time the 12 and 16 cores came out before the 8 core so might be a ploy to get people to upgrade again.

not sure, I know im coming from an older gen, much older 9900k intel, At 4k it makes pretty much any difference. The extra cores of the 9950x3d would come in handy for the UE5 and Unity rendering i do.
